Our Pastors

Chris Timm

Chris Timm

Interim Senior Pastor

Chris joined the FBC Staff as the Interim Senior Pastor in September of 2025. He also serves as the Executive Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Canada. He helps engage, equip and empower coaches and athletes to bring transformation through Jesus to their lives in body, mind and spirit. In addition, Chris served as the pastor of Guelph Bible Chapel for 20 years, finishing in January 2025. Prior to his entry into pastoral ministry, he worked in wealth management with TD Bank.

Chris has a passion for the gospel, the Bible, and seeing the church live out its unique calling in the local context. He loves helping people discover the gifts God has given and developing them as they let their lights shine. He lives in Kitchener with his wife of 35 years, Jennifer, where they have 5 children and 3 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with family, fitness, reading, writing, board games and history.

Andrew Carducci

Associate Pastor

Pastor Andy joined the pastoral team as Associate Pastor in January of 2012. He and his wife, Michelle, are blessed with two sons, Samuel and Jacob. Pastor Andy was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario in a loving home with an Italian Roman Catholic background. He holds a Bachelor of Theology degree from New Brunswick Bible Institute.

He leads our Evangelism/Discipleship Ministry, Men's Ministry, and Persian Ministry. Andy is passionate about sharing the Gospel and walking alongside people as they grow in their faith. His vision is to see people come to Christ and continue to grow in their walk with Him.

Matthew Shields

Associate Pastor

Pastor Matt joined the FBC pastoral team in March 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Theology from New Brunswick Bible Institute and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity from Heritage College and Seminary. He leads our APEX youth ministry and oversees our church administration. His vision for the ministry is to see students develop a genuine, lifelong faith that puts Christ at the centre of their lives. He is passionate about teaching the Bible and loves building relationships with teens, helping them study and apply God's Word for themselves.

Matt was born and raised in a Christian home in central Alberta. God saved him at a young age, and he was involved in children’s and youth ministry throughout his teenage years. After one year of Bible college, he sensed a call to pastoral ministry and pursued further training. He met his wife Bethany while at NBBI, and they were married in 2020 after he convinced her to move west. He enjoys hiking, cooking, sports, fly fishing, and reading theology. Matt, Bethany, and their son John live in Wellesley, west of Waterloo.

Paul Park

Paul Park

Associate Pastor

Pastor Paul joined the pastoral team as Associate Pastor in December of 2018. He was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Korean Bible University, as well as a Master of Divinity from Heritage Theological Seminary. He was a Youth Pastor in several Korean churches in Vancouver, Hamilton, and Waterloo from 2000 to 2014, mentoring and discipling youth to mature in their Christian life. He and his wife Kristine have three children; Joel, Joanne, and Jane.

His primary area of responsbility at First Baptist Church is pastoring our Korean Ministry. His vision for the Korean Ministry is to build up a church that is full of the grace of God, devoted to evangelism, and growing in the Christian faith through discipleship, fellowship, and showing love and care for one another.

Kids Ministry Coordinator

Cathy joined our staff team in August of 2019. She oversees all ministries relating to children aged 2 to age 12.

Cathy grew up in the state of Maine. She attended New Brunswick Bible Institute for three years. At NBBI, she met and later married her husband, Terry. They have one daughter, Brianna who attended NBBI following in her parents footsteps. Cathy has spent over thirty years in children's ministries. She has been involved with children's ministries in the local church, on a short-term missions trip, and in camp ministries.

Having accepted Christ as her personal Saviour at a young age, her vision is that children learn of God's love while they are young. She believes children are an important part of the church family.

Jolene Hiltz

Music Director

Jolene joined our staff in March of 2022. She placed her faith in Christ as a young child, and since her teen years has been very involved in the music ministry at several churches and Bible camps. She graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College in Dunbar, Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Piano Pedagogy. Jolene's primary responsibility is coordinating the music ministry at FBC. Her vision for this ministry is to help our congregation see and savour (and sing to) Jesus Christ.

Jolene is married to Jesse and they have been blessed with three children: Erika, Ryan, and Shawn.

Jenn Zehr

Sr. Administrative Secretary

Jenn has worked in the church office since January of 2009. She truly enjoys her role as Sr. Administrative Secretary and the ministry opportunities it provides.

Along with her work in the office, Jenn serves in the Olympian children's ministry (teaching JK-Gr.2) which she has done since 2008. She also helps in the church nursery, Children's Church, facilitates the Sunday morning coffee ministry and serves on the Ladies' event committee.

Jenn and her husband Kevin love serving the young adults at FBC and regularly have them in their home. They have 2 adult daughters. Rachel who is an RN at a local hospital, and Abbie, whose husband Micaiah is the youth pastor at Living Hope Bible Church in Port Rowan. They also have a delightful granddaughter.

Edite Piper

Edite Piper

Administrative Assistant

Edite asked Jesus into her heart at a young age, as the result of the bus ministry at a local church in Toronto and a Billy Graham Crusade.

Since coming to First Baptist Church in 2002, Edite has participated in special music ministry, worship team, decor team, custodial service and in 2024 joined the office staff as assistant administrative secretary.

Edite lives locally with her husband and has 3 married children and 4 grandchildren.
